Rules:

1. Team: 6 members. [5 Reporters and 1 Photographer].
2. Each college shall represent 1 team.
3. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
4. Use of professional DSLR camera highly recommended and preferred.

Guidelines:

Journalist:

1. Each reporter of a team is designated a committee to collect pieces of news, produce articles with appropriate captions.
2. To be a reporter, you must be willing to write quickly, concisely and to edit your own work. It is fast paced and you need to be able to multitask. You may have to work during breaks and lunch times getting interviews from the delegates.
3. Choosing a topic to write about: Reporters of the team can sit together and decide what topics could be chosen and decide what gets published and what doesn't in the Newsletter.

Photographer:

1. A picture speaks a thousand words! It’s important to have equally
amazing pictures to accompany reporter’s writings.
Your primary responsibility will be to supply photographs of the entire event in good taste. 2. Use of Professional Camera (DSLR) is highly advised. We cannot use low quality, distorted or low light pictures in our publications.
3. Photographs shall be used to support the writing and in developing a Professional Newsletter.
4. Moreover, best collection of photographs shall be awarded and published in the official website and the media pages of the Fest.

How to make a Newsletter:

1. The Reporters and the Photographer of a team should work together and make a Professional
Newsletter with appropriate software. (E.g. Photoshop) 2. The Newsletter must be submitted to the Chief Editor for evaluation before the Valedictory function of the Fest.
Hence, you must be fast paced and able to multitask. You may have to work during breaks and lunch times. 3. The best out of all shall bag the prize and will be declared as the official Newsletter of the year.

Evaluation Criteria:

Writings:

1. Language
2. Vocabulary
3. Grammatical Accuracy
4. Style of presentation

Photographs:

1. Originality
2. Clear and impactful focus on the subject
3. Composition of the photo, I.e., what is being covered and the color balance is maintained or manipulated to give a better picture.
4. Visual and aesthetic criteria (framing of the picture, elements and the principle, visual impact and background)
5. Content (emotion, information, ideology, feeling, mood, communication meaning and subject impact)
6. Style
7. Validity 8. Photographic vision
9. Interest
10. Activity during the conference (how much does the photographer move, does the photographer create any kind of disturbance during the committee sessions, whether every part of the conference is covered or not)
